If you are unfamiliar with the meanings behind the colors of the South African flag, it will help to identify these to know more about the rich culture and heritage of the country.
About Green
Green stands for Table Mountain. The mountain is one of the most popular landmarks in Cape Town. It features a flat top and is located within a national park where you can enjoy several sights and natural attractions. The mountain can also be seen from any point in the city and will make a great backdrop for photos. You can opt to go up the slopes by foot. In other cases, people like to take the cableway instead to save their energy.
About Yellow
The yellow on the South African banner stands for the Gold of Africa Museum. Africa is one of the primary nations in the world with a rich supply of gold and other precious stones and metals. You will find over 350 gold artifacts and unique creations within the museum. You can also learn more about the industry of gold mining and goldsmiths.
About White
The Witsand Nature Reserve is represented by the color white. The reserve is about 2,500 hectares wide and around it is the red Kalahari sand which provides a beautiful color to compliment the white sand. Many experts say that the white sand forms due to the gathering of hillocks just under the sand dunes.
About Black
You will enjoy the Black Marlin Seafood restaurant as well as other dining places in Cape Town. The restaurant used to be a whaling site. You will appreciate its close location to the ocean so dining will be more memorable with the sea in front of you.

When you see a South African flag waving proudly in the wind, you may now be reminded of the special places that the colors stand for.
