There are issues surrounding the building that was supposed to be built close to the area where ground zero is located in New York City. The building happens to be an Islamic mosque.
Many times, politicians state that we should be more forgiving and allow others to express themselves freely. The Liberal wing of the United States government is doing their best to ensure that the building of the mosque becomes a success. They allege that American Muslims have equal rights to build in the country. They should also have leeway in showcasing their faith flags as a sign of their respect and faith towards their religion.
Generally, American Muslims have the right to do so. However, there is a problem with the site that they chose to build on. The government tends to defend the minority in these types of situations.
The main issue is how Islam and other religions are defended and tolerated by many politicians in the United States. Actually every other religion, except Christianity, is being tolerated.
There are also issues regarding the public Veterans War Memorial situated in King, North Carolina. They have been making the mistake of raising a Christian flag high above the memorial.
There should be a clear distinction between the Church and the State. According to Liberals, there should be a clear separation between the two, despite the absence of such a statement in the Constitution. The ALCU or American Civil Liberties Union has a different stance, however. The group allows civil liberties by removing these entirely.
