Wednesday, July 1, 2015
There are so many custom tents available in the market today, featuring a variety of styles and materials depending on your particular objectives and location. The kind of tent needed will rely on your purpose and the location. You should consider the environment where you will be setting up the custom tent. Some areas tend to be cooler, hotter, dryer or wetter than others. You should also count the number of people you expect to sleep in it. Determine if you have to carry the tent or putting it on a car. Also find out how long you need the tent for. You will find an array of tent styles and types that will suit your specific goals. The idea is to have a setup that will keep you comfortable and protected anywhere.
The A-frame or ridge tent is shaped like the letter “A” when set up. It is one of the most popular types because it is simple and easy to prepare. The tent might require an extra tarp to keep you safe against harsh weather. These may be heavy if you pick the bigger types or extra canopies. The headroom tends to be limited because of the high and sloping sides. Depending on the material, some ridge tents will not last long against strong winds. There are two poles on each side and a third one across the center where the tent is hung over. This is referred to as the ridge, hence the name. The tent is ideal if you need a quick setup to stay safe against bad weather if you happen to be lost in the backcountry.
There is also a modified A-frame tent that makes use of curved poles. Therefore, you get more stability during strong winds as well as extra headroom. These tents feature a rain fly that will make the overall package lightweight. You do not have to bring the tarp everywhere.
Today, dome tents are probably the most preferred by campers. There are so many dome tents available today. People like to use these because of the simple but effective structure, featuring flexible poles that pass across each other at the center of the peak. The tips will go to the base or floor of the tent so that the structure appears round all over. The structure is also rigid enough so you can move the setup easily when necessary and keep safe against storms.
These custom tents will give you ample headroom and some even present living areas and separate compartments and porches with sufficient space for your equipment and cooking items. There are tents that fit only one person while other models can suit a whole family. The shape makes the structure more heat-efficient while the rain-fly will keep the people within dry. The design is also sturdy and rigid so the tent stays stable regardless of the size.
There are geodesic custom tents that feature crisscrossing poles at the surface of the material. These intersect to create triangles. The tent also copies the geodesic design in big dome buildings that you find at present. Minimum materials are used in the design so that the tent stays firm across. The center pole will give it more strength to withstand harsh weather.

The custom tents are great for outdoor use and highly favored by mountain climbers.
