The flag of Morocco that you see today was initially adopted in 1956, although the main version of the flag was first featured in 1666. The Moroccan flag showcases a red field with a green and black-bordered star weaved into the material. The banner features a ratio of 2:3 between the star and the flag. There are also two versions of the flag. The first features a civil ensign on the upper left portion of the banner, while the second version shows civil ensigns on all corners. The ensign is yellow and appears like a crown with a star over it.
Based on history, the flag of Morocco shows the royal ancestry of the people beginning from the Prophet Muhammad. The descendants of the Moroccan royalty were related to the wife of Ali, named Fatima. The red on the flag was essential to the Sharifs of Mecca and the priests of Yemen. The flag that came from the 17th century was fully red and without a star. This stood for the ancestors of the country.

In 1915, Morocco changed its leader and Mulay Yusuf headed the country. He chose the Seal of Solomon to be included on the banner. The seal was a reflective green and appeared like an interlaced star or pentangle. It had six points before and was first called the Star of David. Later on, the flag was changed to having five points. Today, the flag of Morocco is flown in different parts of the country with many people knowing much about its history and symbols
