The world flag is also known as an ensign. It often shows the national colors and symbols and rectangular in shape. Recreational boaters on the other hand use a red flag with the Union Jack on the upper left part. In Canada, the flag of Canada features a widely known symbol Maple Leaf. The maple leaf is at the center with white background and two red vertical bands on both sides. It is also the ensign used by several Canadian vessels.
