Wednesday, March 12, 2014
A flag is a valuable item because it represents people, places or things. It can be displayed in any types of places but often in public places so more people can see it. Nonetheless, it must be securely attached to the flagpole. This is why it is advised to know how a flagpole rope is tied.
Follow the steps below to secure your flag.
First step, identify the correct length of the rope. Once the measurement is taken multiply it by two and add four feet.
Second step, detach the finial of the pole to pass the end of the rope through it.
Third step, make a knot by using the ends of the rope. The knot must be in between the finial and the cleat.
Fourth step, using a snap clip attach it to the top of the pole. Measure 8 inches from the finial then fold the rope in half.
Fifth step, using the end of the rope pass it through the hole of the snap clip. The loop must be pulled enough that the snap hook can fit through the loop. Pull the loop until it’s tight after slipping the snap clip through it. Redo this step to make a second snap hook.
Sixth step, make sure the snap clip reach the end of the pole by pulling the rope. The flag must be snapped to the snap clips.
Seventh step, pull the rope until the flag reaches the top of the pole.
Lastly, make sure to tie the flagpole rope tightly to its cleat.
