Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Monday, August 18, 2014
The American flag holds a lot of meaning for the American people. Through the years, however, people have lost their way and forgot about the values that the banner stands for. Many do not know how to properly fold, raise or retire a flag. In the United States, the flag code was established to educate people on how to properly handle and keep flags to ensure that it is given the respect it deserves. Some of the rules will teach you how to eliminate American flags that have been worn out or torn by the external elements.
If a flag has deteriorated too much and requires replacement, there is a disposal approach that must be done. The flag should not be thrown in a garbage can or buried in the ground. Instead, there is a more respectful manner of eliminating the flag. Many people are unfamiliar with the process but scouts and the armed forces actually practice the routine regularly.

Burning the American flag may be a sign of disrespect for many. You might see on the news how rebels and protesters burn or rip the flag to show their discontent. When it comes to disposing the American flag, however, it is needed to burn it with dignity. The flag is then disposed of away from the public eye. It is similar to burying a respectable individual. The armed forces actually have a more formal process in destroying a tattered and torn flag. The bottom line is that it should be treated with reverence always.
