Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Monday, August 25, 2014
Many people have heard of the Flag Code but do not truly know the
rules that govern. For many American citizens, flying American Flags
may seem like an ordinary routine, but there are actually rules on
where these should be displayed and how these must be raised or
lowered each time. There are even rules on how to properly dispose of
the banners. The bottom line is to always treat the flag with utmost
respect. States have varying laws on how the flag should be treated
but there are also penalties when people are caught disrespecting or
desecrating the flag. People are not expected to memorize all the laws
but they should at least have some concern on the proper handling of
flags.
Many states have specific rules on how the American or state flag must
be treated. There are specific penalties for violators found to deface
or vandalize the flag. Some states do not allow the American flag or
design to be used or printed on other items like underwear, blankets
or towels. Some state laws may require violators to pay a huge fine
for being found guilty of desecrating the national banner.

It is equally important to know the proper definition of a flag to
determine whether or not you are treating it properly. American flags
are present on top of flagpoles in most government buildings and even
in front of homes and offices. Some of these appear in smaller

versions but should still be given the same level of respect.
