Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Wednesday, August 20, 2014
There are plenty of misconceptions and misbeliefs on how to properly dispose of the American flag. One wrong notion is that a flag that comes in contact with the soil should immediately be destroyed or burned. There are others who believe that the flag should never be washed. Once that it acquires dirt or the white tones turn yellow or brown, the banner must be retired. There is a proper approach to eliminating the flag. Also, there is no rule forbidding the washing of the American flag. It is actually encouraged to keep the banner in great shape all year round.
The Flag Code of the United States provides for all the necessary measures and rules of flying the flag at various locations. The military and ordinary citizens should be adept at raising and handling the flag. Burning or desecrating the flag is not criminal in nature since people who have protests against the government are allowed to show their anger or frustration. The burning of a flag on the street is symbolic so it is quite common to see unhappy citizens tearing the flag or burning it on camera. The truth is, every person is entitled to free speech so the act of burning the banner as a sign of unhappiness is sanctioned.

Ultimately, worn out flags should be washed or restored. If the banner is beyond repair, it should be burned and kept away from individuals who might disrespect it further. People can learn more about these ideas by reading the United States Flag Code on the internet.
