Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Tuesday, August 19, 2014
In today’s world, only a handful of people know how to show respect to the world flag. The flag is a great symbol of honor and glory for citizens. Whenever you look at the flag, think of all the people who risked their lives just so we can enjoy liberty and freedom. Many people died trying to fight for the very principles that are embodied on the national flag. However, time tends to make many forget. Now, there are only a number of groups that still understand how to properly keep the flag.
Several decades ago, it was basic for individuals to know how to fly, retire, raise and destroy an old flag with full respect. However, schools no longer teach flag etiquette and there are very few reliable sources online where people can get tips on how to care for their flags or raise it in a proper manner. Only those from the armed forces or scouting regiments can prepare and raise a flag the right way. Old houses with old folks may have a flag or two displayed on their porch or lawn. The younger individuals, however, do not understand why this is done so their lawn stays bare.

Torn and old flags should be retired and not kept on top of poles for a long time. People do not know that tattered flags should be lowered and burned in a dignified manner. Continuing to raise the world flag in poor form only shows disrespect. Ask the military how to best care for these.
