Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Monday, July 27, 2015
Every September 7, the people in Brazil celebrate Independence Day. The country remembers their history, culture, leaders, customs and national flag during the special day. The flag of Brazil is also common among people around the world. The flag has a green field, and a large yellow rhombus at the center. Inside the yellow rhombus is a blue circle that has five stars with various sizes and a curved white band that goes through it. The Brazilian flag is one of the few banners that do not have symbols or colors that stand for war and violence, such as black or red.
The Brazil flag you see today was adopted by the national government on November 19, 1889. Raimundo Mendes was credited for its design. The new banner and the symbols on it also remained unchanged for many years. There were minor adjustments although these were very subtle.
Ruy Barbosa, an attorney and former Minister of Finances of Brazil’s First Republic, suggested that they come up with a new flag design. He was motivated to make one after seeing the United States flag design.
The new Brazilian flag was inspired by the ancient flag of the Brazilian Empire. The green stands for the forests throughout the country. The yellow stands for the rich minerals. The blue stands for the sky over the nation capital. It substituted the old coat of arms. On November 15, 1889, the Republic of Brazil was announced. People in Brazil and throughout the world are proud of their flag because of its symbols.
