Custom Street Pole Banners - Custom Feather Flags

Tuesday, July 8, 2014
Perhaps many of you are familiar with the “Star Spangled Banner”, which by the way is the national anthem of the United States of America. Also, supposedly many are also aware that the symbolic star in the flag of the US is not at all unique to it. There are many other countries and flags which use the star as their representation. While other countries may opt to have some other symbols other than a star, there is one special country which uses a Biblical reference such as a bible itself as part of its design – the Dominican Republic Flag.
Similar to other flags depicting justice, equality, liberty, and freedom, the Dominican Republic flag is a combination of red, white, and blue.  While many again would have an immediate association play with the American flag, the color scheme of this country was in fact patterned after the Haitian flag. Being the previous sovereign of Dominican Republic, Haiti has seen its share of bloodshed for the greater good of humanity, thus the red and blue standing as stark representation of this past. It is said that the founding father of the Trinitarians added a central cross to bind the two concepts in faith.
Within the central cross is a symbol of the bible and a cross, attached to four other smaller emblems of mini Dominican Republic flags attached with spears. These four mini flag emblems surround the central bible and cross.

The love for the design does not end there. The Dominican Republic flag has a civil flag design which can be used publicly by the citizens, being the same color motif and scheme minus the central emblems and bible found in the original design.
