Monday, September 29, 2014
Many people say that they are proud of their country but only few can actually prove it. Many citizens do not know how to fold or display the American flag the proper way.
There are rules on how to properly present the flag as well as violations. When attending meets, summits and conventions, make sure that you follow these accordingly. There are experts that can help guide you accordingly. It could be disrespectful and embarrassing to prepare for a public meeting then realize that you do not know the right approach. The first rule is to put the American flag on the right side of the stage. When facing the audience, the flag should be on the right side. When facing the stage, the flag should be situated on the left.
A bad flag presentation may be discovered when the flag is positioned at the left side of the stage, upside down or very low, with the fabric touching the ground.
Before starting the session, be sure to check the flag first that it does not violate any of the standards. The flag must also be removed properly from the pole and folded in a decent manner. Many people make the mistake of using the flag for other purposes such as a table cloth or window curtain. These are signs of disrespect and must be fixed accordingly.

Dragging the flag is also wrong. As a general rule, the banner should never touch the ground. Some people might correct you if you display it the wrong way.
