Wednesday, July 29, 2015
Custom flags have been the rave even before but its popularity even soar higher because of a woman named Betsy Ross. Betsy Ross was an expert upholsterer and flag making was her area of expertise. She  designed and sewn the first American flag in the 1870’s with a creation that was described as remarkable and made a remarkable impact in the United States history and in the flag making history as well.
Flag during Besty Ross’ time were hand sewn. The designs were sewn with the use of cotton thread. The absence of technology in the flag making made it imperative that the flag making be skillful and creative to come up with impressive designs.  Eventually, the industry of flag making progressed to the use of silk screen printing. Presently,  advancements in technology afforded us the use of digital printers where designs are now uploaded to the computer to serve as the guide for the printing machine in making the end results.

Hence, even when one is sorely lacking in the creative juice department, one can still come up with designs that can be spell binding simply by searching the internet for designs. There are softwares that are easy to use that can help create designs that one prefers and have it printed on flags. Customizing today is but a touch of a button and one does not need to rack the brains out for ideas on what to design a flag. In hand sewn flag making techniques, mistakes are time consuming to undo whereas today, designs can easily be edited or altered to better suit preferences.
