If you have seen any maritime vehicles such as boats, yacht or ships it is a usual sight to see flags waving with it. In fact, even many years ago many boats and ships have flags as regular accessories that flags have become to have big impact or significance to the vehicle. Flag etiquette was developed in time and became traditions or included in the codes of ships and navies all over the world.
Although the navy flag etiquette is very detailed and specific, every boat man must find time to learn and practice it. It is important to be immersed in learning and practicing the etiquette on the use of boat flags because it has become a standard for boaters everywhere. This information can give a shock to someone new to a boating hobby because flags seemed to be just a regular thing that is just for display.
To begin, it is basic to know that there are different types of boat flags. All have distinguishing marks, symbols, colors and shapes. Also, there are basic rules to follow in relation to flag placement.
A flag is often placed at the stern of a vessel or the back part of a boat or ship. Going back to ancient times like during the Roman Empire wherein ships usually carry a small but important statue that is located at the back deck of a ship in order to have the spot made for worship. That is the same area where flags are placed.t
